Nigerians stand for their thieves instead of standing up for their rights

“Nigerians stand for their thieves instead of standing up for their rights because of their mental and physical poverty and because of their own affinity for and vulnerability to corruption that has become a transactional tradition in their country. This is the reason they are now being led down the gallows by a fraudster, drug dealer, certificate forger and an identity thief paired up with a mastermind of terrorism. It hurts to see how my people, regardless of their levels of education and exposure are now mostly like worms used by commercial fishermen or fish farmers to feed their fish for commercial distribution. It breaks my heart to see how much most of the people for whose wellbeing and future some of us have staked their lives and resources to inspire to liberate themselves don’t want to their own minimum because they too are corrupt and mostly tribalistic and don’t want their bigger oppressors who give them pittances to remain in their shackles to see them in any contrary manner, but knowing that we are called to the duty of setting the captives free, we just can’t give up even if we may be the only ones standing ”. …Smart Madu Ajaja
